"Nothing is more satisfying than earning a patient's thanks for a great outcome."

Who is Dr. Croy...

Dr. Croy is a Board-Certified Sports Medicine and General Orthopedic Physician and Surgeon.  He specializes in sports and trauma injuries and general orthopedic problems of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, knee, ankle and hip.  His experience, breadth of knowledge, resourcefulness and constant optimism are a source of positive energy for his patients.  Dr. Croy's personalized, collaborative care helps each patient to understand their options and to customize a plan tailored to restore maximum function and mobility.

Dr. Croy is also a Licensed Professional Engineer with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Patients appreciate his straight-forward explanations and use of models and drawings to explain their injuries.

Prior to joining Providence Medical Group, Dr. Croy directed his own well-established private orthopedic practice, known for excellence in care and service, in Newberg.  Dr. Croy also served as an Assistant Professor at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, where he combined his love of orthopedics with his natural teaching ability to instruct residents in ER care for Level 1 orthopedic trauma patients.

“Good medicine begins with a good conversation.  It’s my experience that patients

make good choices when they know their options.   It starts by taking time to explain

what’s going on.  Often, surgery is the only solution, but when conservative,

non-surgical treatment is an option, it should be a patient’s choice."

Dr. Croy now practices at Providence Medical Group-Orthopedics in Newberg.  He sees patients, operates and  takes trauma call in one convenient location at Providence Newberg Medical Center.  He welcomes new patients.

Dr. Croy is the Chair of Surgery at Providence Newberg Medical Center and is a member of the Providence Orthopedic Institute.  He is a strong supporter of education and was instrumental in George Fox University developing a CAATE-accredited professional athletic training program.  He is an American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Fellow.  He is licensed by the American Board of Surgery in Orthopedic Surgery and in Orthopedic Sports Surgery.
